PERT deals with modeling of membrane-based gas separation systems. The applications are the CCS&T e l’upgrading di biogas.
For this last application the membranes are interesting for their modularity and operational simplicity, which makes them more suitable for small installations compatible with the dimensions of biogas production plants for biomass anaerobic fermentation, and therefore with a distributed generation of biogas.
In the feasibility study phase in which this technology is found, the availability of a model makes it possible to check the performances declared by the vendors, the study of the various possible configurations and the analysis of the operation as the operating conditions change and the battery limits.
